Michele
Van Leeuwen is a mother of
three, a successful business woman,
and the creator of the best-selling
summer workbook series, Summer
Bridge Activities™. She
is a devoted advocate for parental
involvement and responsibility in
education and speaks on many parenting
topics, including the importance of
summer learning and the responsibility
of parents in their child’s
education. Currently, Michele sits
on two PTA boards and on the District
PTA Council Board serving as Education
Commissioner.
Dr. Kirk Simon graduated from the Medical College of Wisconsin and completed his residency at the University of Utah. He is board certified in Pediatrics, Adult Psychiatry, and Child/Adolescent Psychiatry. Currently, Dr. Simon serves as the Medical Director at a children’s residential treatment center and the children’s hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah. He is currently on faculty at the University of Utah and teaches Pediatric and Psychiatry residents and medical students. Dr. Simon works closely with families and children with chronic medical and emotional problems including obesity and eating disorders.
